Jo Machado is a Chicago based photographer with a not so secret power of becoming invisible. With this ability she is able to find moments that are  powerful, quiet, and fleeting.

She graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a BFA in photojournalism in 1998.

Her work has been seen in the Chicago Cultural Center, Mars Gallery, Alfonsa Burcheri Gallery, and Gallery 312.  

Jo Machado has worked on documentaries, commercial table tops, weddings, and portraiture but her focus these days has been on fine art. Using low tech equipment such as pinhole and toy cameras allows for unpredictable images and rich prints.
